Macworld 2006 keynote thoughts

Once again Apple CEO Steve Jobs has taken the stage at Macworld and delivered some impressive (albeit somewhat forseen) announcements to the Mac community. The new iMac has an Intel dual core processor in it, with each core running faster than the PowerPC processor in the previous model. That makes for some serious performance.

I completely agree with John Gruber of Daring Fireball when, in MWSF ’06 Predictions, he says MacBook Pro (the name of Apple’s new Intel-powered laptop) sounds “like some crappy Mac accounting software from 1987″.

Apple has posted a streaming video of the Macworld San Francisco 2006 keynote.

MacRumours had live coverage.
