Saturday, June 24th, 2006

We fly out of Bolivia and into Los Angeles (via Peru and San Salvador) tomorrow morning. Then the next day we jet over to New Zealand. We’ve got a big day of shopping planned for LA. Although, Alecia’s feeling sick so she probably won’t be up for much walking around.

In Bolivia

Saturday, June 24th, 2006

Bolivia disagrees with me. I’ve been sick since I got here a week or so ago. Yesterday was the first day I actually enjoyed being in Bolivia. Alecia and I biked down Death Road. It took most of the day, and Alecia was nearly hit by a few trucks and busses, but eventually we

Monday, June 12th, 2006

We’re nearly out of time in this internet place, so I’m just going to write the juicy details. We found a caiman in a field and I jumped on it. Those things are STRONG!!! But I still have all of my fingers so it was worth it. Plus we have pictures. Two minutes after finding

Still in Brasil

We’ve done a bunch of stuff since last we spoke. We saw the Argentine side of the Iguaçu Falls (where we saw a vicious pack of coati, some rampading agouti, and a loving family of guinea pig things). In about 30 min~utes we’re heading into the Pantanal for about 4 days, for a spot of

Sao Paulo, day 2

Thursday, June 1st, 2006

Day 2 in Brazil was shaping up to be a big one. Alecia and I got up at 6:30, had breakfast, and headed back to the Butantan institute. We met Rafael at his office and we all headed down to the venom production facilities. Silvia Candoss took us around the snake rooms. I’ve never seen

Brazil!

Thursday, June 1st, 2006

We arrive in Sao Paulo at about 7 AM. Alecia got the name of a hostel from the airport info booth, and we headed there on a train. That afternoon (Tuesday) we headed out to the University of Sao Paulo to see Carlos Navas. We had planned to tell him that we were going to
