Snakefield National Park

Brown tree snake (Boiga irregularis). I found him when walking along a track at night. We found a larger one on the road the same night, but I didn’t get any pics.

Common tree snake (Dendrelaphis punctulata)

Keelback (Tropidonophis mairii)

Greater black whipsnake (Demansia papuensis). I was sitting on a creek bank recording the body temperature of a croc when I heard a rustle behind me. I turned around to fine this small whipsnake cruising along just centimetres from my hands. I only managed to get one pic before he darted off.

Curl snake (Suta suta)

An orange-naped snake (Furina ornata)

Spotted python (Antaresia maculosa)

Wow Stew, fantastic pics! And so many snakes! Wish I was there to learn some snake ID with you, but in the mean time I’ll check out the frogs and birds and give you my thoughts. Have a great time, and see you in a week :)
