Coastal carpet python (Morelia spilota mcdowelli). We estimated this one to be about 3.1m long. That’s a big carpet snake.

Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately that snake was only one of several road kills I found that night. And of course it’s a fate that befalls many animals, not just snakes.
