Recently, I’ve done two stints of fieldwork out in central Queensland, between about Rockhampton and Moranbah. The first stint was in June, and the second was in September. I managed to track down a reptick on each trip, along with some new mammals.

Short-necked worm-skink (Anomalopus brevicollis).

Vine thicket. Habitat for Anomalopus brevicollis, Menetia timlowi, Glaphyromorphus punctulatus.

Spotted marsh frog (Limnodynastes tasmaniensis). Missing an eye.

A massive common tree snake (Dendrelaphis punctulatus). This is the largest one I’ve ever seen. It’s hard to get a sense of scale in this pic.

Water rat (Hydromys chrysogaster).
