		<description><![CDATA[In January I went out to the southern Brigalow Belt twice. Once to look for pale-headed snakes (Hoplocephalus bitorquatus) and once to look for yakka skinks (Egernia rugosa). Both trips were highly successful. The yakka skink trip turned up not only the skinks, but holy cross frogs (Notaden bennetti) and a Dunmall&#8217;s snake (Furina dunmalli). [...]]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[On our way from Mt Isa we stopped at Elsey National Park. I had wanted to find some water monitors (both Mertens&#8217; and Mitchell&#8217;s water monitors are known from the area), but had no luck on this front. We did manage to find some frogs and some skinks.

		<description><![CDATA[As we left the Atherton Tablelands, we stopped at Granite Gorge to see some cute little Mareeba rock wallabies (Petrogale mareeba). We saw a few frilled dragons (Chlamydosaurus kingii) run off the road. One ran up a tree, while the other ran up a termite mound.

Eastern long-necked turtle (Chelodina longicollis). She was alive on the road. We moved her off (after looking at her plastron to confirm her ID).

		<description><![CDATA[I went up to Conondale National Park over the weekend to see what I could see. I saw frogs.
This juvenile eastern water dragon (Physignathus lesueurii lesueurii) was sleeping in the rock crevice (until I accidentally woke him up).
